Crazy parameters determine car insurance rates- the law strikes back

Insurance Commissioner of California John Garamendi has promised to restore sanity in the process of determination of car insurance rates by ensuring zip codes are not longer a significant factor. The car insurance rates will be based on whether the applicant has a good driving history or not. Garamendi described the existing process as “irrational”. Now the drivers can look forward to a process where optional factors will not outweigh the mandatory factors in determining insurance rates.
